Dr. Amaia Ruiz de Alegría-Arzaburu and PhD students Angélica Romero and Adrián Vidal participated in the 2018 Ocean Science Meeting hold 11-16 February in Portland, Oregon (https://osm.agu.org/2018/). Amaia gave an oral presentation (CD42A-04) Spatio-temporal variability of rip currents on a mesotidal and intermediate beach in NW Baja California, Adrián gave an oral presentation (CD31A-07) Seasonal sandbar migration on a single-barred embayed beach in the Mexican Pacific Coast, and Angélica presented a poster (AI24B-1611) Effects of Santa Ana winds on the profile of nearshore currents in Todos Santos Bay, Baja California. MORDICS is a young team specialised in coastal physical oceanography based on morphological, meteorological and hydrodynamic measurements and numerical modelling of the nearshore, with the aim of improving the understanding of coastal processes for a better management of the coast in the future.
