So far this year 2018, two of our students accomplished their MSc. In January 25th Mayra Martínez presented her thesis titled Morphodynamic characterization of sandy, cobble and mixed beaches at Todos Santos Bay, B.C., supervised by myself in collaboration with Dr. Héctor García from IIO-UABC, and Dr.Jorge Ledesma and MSc Rigoberto Guardado from FCM-UABC. On the 4th of May Gemma Desplán presented her thesis titled Rip current morphodynamics on a mesotidal beach supervised by myself in collaboration with Dr. Héctor García from IIO-UABC and Professor Julio Candela from CICESE. We would like to congratulate both MSc Mayra Martínez and MSc Gemma Desplán for their achievements!!

MORDICS is a young team specialised in coastal physical oceanography based on morphological, meteorological and hydrodynamic measurements and numerical modelling of the nearshore, with the aim of improving the understanding of coastal processes for a better management of the coast in the future.
